Medical Report 11

This is the least theatrical object in the archive and one of the most useful. It is a procedure log.

Cases 210 through 218 are recorded in the flat language of routine medicine: cooling-system malfunction, sedation delay, successful procedures, anomaly classes, a deleted construct, a quarantined construct, and one client death attributed to likely circulatory or heart failure.

The important implication is not that Soulkiller has become harmless. It is that death is no longer the expected visible outcome of every commercial procedure.

Keep two sources separate

The wider engram record says later Arasaka versions could regulate Soulkiller's lethality: a target could survive, but the resulting copy would be less complete than a lethal full read.

Medical Report 11 is consistent with that world, but it does not state that rule itself. Treating the two as one document makes the archive sound more certain than its sources are.

That distinction matters here. The archive should be allowed to assemble an argument from multiple records, but it should also show the join.

The colder detail

The report documents construct management as ordinary procedure. A construct can be deleted after an anomaly. Another can be quarantined for research. Whatever philosophical status an engram has, the operational system around it already treats it as data with a lifecycle.

That is a much better reason to keep this file than a sentence it never said.
